Vintage 2020

It should have been a good year for wine …
Let’s not talk about the coronavirus which has been hanging over us for months and disrupting everyone’s life, but let’s go back to a vintage full of contrasts where the climatic impact was strong: despite a humid autumn in 2019 and too much rain in spring in 2020, the vineyards suffered from the summer drought (no thunderstorm at the time of veraison) while the quantity of grapes was low: in our opinion it was the after-effect of 6 months of drought and a fairly abundant harvest in 2019. But let’s stay positive because the 2020 juices are very tasty, generous with very beautiful fruit. The fermentation went well and the aging began: the Causse du Bousquet and Clos de la Simonette wines were put into barrels and demi-muids.

2020 is also our last vintage.
Yes, having reached a “venerable age” or almost, the torch is taken up by a younger team, with Nicolas Gaignon at its head, an experienced and passionate winegrower. We hoped to accompany our successors to the shows at the start of the year, we will have to wait a few more months …
